The Villa Santi Hotel was established in 1992 by Lao businessman Mr. Santi Inthavong in a royal residence, which belongs to his wife, a royal princess of Luang Prabang. The century old mansion was renovated and equipped with up to date facilities.The hotel was first operated as a family business with 11 rooms and a restaurant. In November 1994, 14 rooms were added, making the property one of the most famous sites of Luang Prabang, which was declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995.
The Villa Santi Hotel was re-looked in 2008. All the facilities were upgraded to meet the standards of an international luxury boutique hotel, featuring 6 Executive Suites and Deluxe rooms with most refined amenities.

Recognized by many international travelers and distinguished guests as the country’s most charming boutique hotel, the Villa Santi is located in the heart of Luang Prabang, at walking distance from many historical places such as the former Royal Palace, the Sacred Mount Phousi, many ancient temples dating back to the 16th century and beyond, and the various handicraft markets.

In 2002, Mr. Santi Inthavong appointed a professional team to manage the boutique hotel and the new Santi Resort and Spa, a complex of 52 Luxury rooms, 48 Deluxe rooms, 1 Deluxe Suite and 3 Regent Villas designed in a luxuriant tropical setting outside town. The new Santi Resort and Spa is equipped with a conference room, modern Food & Beverage service, a large outdoor Swimming Pool, Spa, Tennis Court and Fitness Center. Free airport pick up and free shuttle minibus service between Villa Santi Hotel and Santi Resort and Spa are available.

In 2008, the Santi Resort and Spa was expanded further with an additional 14 Panorama rooms and 1 Panorama Suite room with private terrace overlooking the beautiful scenery of mountains, ponds and rice fields.

The management team has started implementing a new direction for the company, developing it from a successful family business to become the county\'s leading boutique Hotel and Resort.
